Norton Rose Fulbright continues growth of corporate insurance and technology transactions practices with six new lawyers and a senior consultant

Following the recent arrival of a six-partner team from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP), global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has added six non-partner lawyers and a senior consultant from the same firm to further strengthen its corporate insurance and technology transactions practices.

The new additions include corporate insurance senior counsel Charlene McHugh in New York, technology transactions senior counsels Tim Carlton, Derek Johnston and Michelle Meiselman in Atlanta, corporate transactions associates Dylan Fehl and Kyle Summerville in St. Louis and senior consultant Angie Ligon in Denver.

On April 18, Norton Rose Fulbright announced the addition of a four-partner transactional and regulatory insurance team (Jodi Adolf, Bruce Baty, Kevin Fischer and Michael Schwartz) and a two-partner technology transactions team (Sean Christy and Chuck Hollis) from BCLP.

Fischer, Norton Rose Fulbright's US Head of Insurance Transactions who will work closely with McHugh, Fehl and Summerville, said:

About the new additions

Charlene McHugh advises clients on the regulatory aspects of insurance market transactions. She also handles complex regulatory filings in all US jurisdictions seeking approval for material transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions and other changes in control, demutualizations, assumption reinsurance and loss portfolio transfers. She has extensive experience with all insurance holding company requirements and filings, producer licensing issues, insurance company investments, surplus lines placements and reinsurance. Licensed in New York, McHugh earned her law degree from Loyola University and her bachelor's degree from George Washington University.

Tim Carlton represents clients on all aspects of technology and commercial arrangements in a variety of industries. Ranked as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA in Georgia: Technology & Outsourcing, his practice focuses on information technology and business process outsourcing transactions, cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements, software license agreements, core system implementations and integrations, payment services, artificial intelligence, automation and other technology-enabled transactions. Licensed in Georgia, Carlton earned his law degree from the University of Georgia and his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.

Derek Johnston represents clients in software systems acquisition and implementation transactions as well as transition services arrangements in mergers and acquisitions. Recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA Nationwide: Outsourcing and in Georgia: Technology & Outsourcing, he also works on customer side offshore and onshore outsourcing transactions, including business process outsourcing, information technology outsourcing, application development maintenance, managed network services, human resources outsourcing arrangements, SaaS and application service provider arrangements. Licensed to practice in Georgia, he earned his law degree from Northwestern University and his bachelor's degree from Brown University.

Michelle Meiselman represents clients on all aspects of technology and commercial arrangements and focuses her practice on strategic software systems acquisition, implementation and integration transactions, cloud and SaaS agreements, and other technology-based service agreements. She also works on customer side offshore and onshore outsourcing transactions, including information technology outsourcing, business process outsourcing, application development and maintenance, and managed network services as well as transition services arrangements in mergers and acquisitions. Licensed in Georgia, Meiselman earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law and her bachelor's degree from Arizona State University.

Dylan Fehl advises on mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments for public, private and private equity clients. He also regularly advises companies and their founders on corporate governance and formation matters. Fehl is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas. He received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas.

Kyle Summerville focuses his practice on M&A transactions, including public and private transactions of all sizes. His experience ranges from drafting the main deal documents to coordinating diligence, writing complex memoranda and enabling smooth closings. Summerville is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois. He received his law degree from Washington University School of Law and his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Angie Ligon focuses on working in partnership with the technology transactions team to enhance and streamline client service delivery across all five pillars of the practice. Angie's work includes helping clients develop, implement and maintain standardized procedures, playbooks and templates; process maturity assessment; process realignment and improvement; technology implementation; and other operational methodologies to align people, process and technology around specific projects or larger processes related to contracting. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a bachelor's and master's degree both from the University of Michigan.
